My sweet crybaby decided to keep me up all night so during the late night hugging session I went through my archives and added about 60+ creature pictures to my Flickr. Here are a couple of my faves. They are both taken in the yard of the home where I lived when I went to high school. I only lived there for a few years, but my parents lived there for 20 years and just moved away not that long ago, so these pics have nice nostalgia value for me. I tried to bring that out by messing with them a little in Photoshop. Can you tell what I did?

There’s a new book out called Invasion of the Plush Monsters! I contributed five projects to it and here are some sneak peeks of what I made. I’ve been waiting months and months to share these photos! I just got my copy in the mail today and I think it turned out really great. My favorite part about the book is how every plush monster has a funny little story and illustration to go along with it. It’s fun to browse even if you don’t end up making any of the projects. I had a lot of fun making these projects but I had no idea what the book was going to be like. I am totally impressed and happier than ever to be a part of it!
The book is written by Veronika Gunter and Illustrated by John Murphy (Stupid Sock Creatures.) John and fellow Stupid Creature maker Ian Dennis also contributed lots of projects to the book. Thanks for having me on board you guys!

Here are some pictures from Brooklyn Flea a few weekends ago.
One fun thing about hanging out in the Etsy tent was that people introduced themselves by saying “I have an Etsy shop too!” Afterward I went home and looked them all up and discovered some good stuff. One person I met was the adorable Astulabee who was a winner in the Softie Awards!
But the best thing was spending some quality time with Cal, Julie, Mary, and the rest of the Etsy teacher gang. It was teacher day, so everyone selling at the Etsy tent that day was a teacher at the labs. I’ve got a few new classes in the works, so stay tuned to find out about them. I can’t wait to see the new Etsy Labs. They’ve moved to a different floor in the same building and word is they are bigger and better than ever!
I am so happy gardening season is here! Look who joined me in the yard the other day to help me enjoy our little patch of grass…
